It’s official: Jeremy Lin is FOR REAL

February 13th, 2012 · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Tebow-mania is officially over.  Now it’s time for Lin-mania.   And yes, I realize I just posted about this, but as a die-hard Knicks fan, I must continue.

Jeremy Lin, the new starting point guard for the New York Knicks, has singlehandedly brought the Knicks back into postseason contention and has saved their season.  The Knicks, who have won five straight since Lin became their starting point guard, have defeated quality opponents such as the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers.

That’s right, the Knicks actually beat the Lakers, who previously defeated the Knicks nine straight times.  However, on this night, in front of a sold out crowd in Madison Square Garden, Lin proved he was for real by scoring 38 points and overshadowing Kobe Bryant.

Kobe had this to say about the undrafted Harvard grad:

“He has been phenomenal.  Players don’t usually come out of nowhere. If you can go back and take a look, his skill level was probably there from the beginning, but no one ever noticed.  It is a great story. It is a testament to perseverance and hard work. It is a good example to kids everywhere.”

Call it “Lin-sational,” or what most people are calling it, “Lin-sanity.”

Either way, it’s been great being a Knicks fan as of late, as the success should continue.  Lin has added chemistry and brought back the pulse of the Knicks.

There’s passion, there’s energy, and there’s dominance.  This is how you should play New York Knicks basketball.

This is such a good story for the NBA. Im a huge fan of the underdog story. Looking at the rosters to start the season, I know not many experts thought the Knicks would have so many problems this year with all that talent. In steps a no-name player who never saw much more than a bench or a D-League roster. He has that city up in arms, now lets see if he can keep it rolling. I bet Spike Lee is already thinking documentary.

Totally wrote a blog about the same thing. Kind of wrote it from the perspective of a Knicks fan and totally tied in Tim Tebow. Pretty crazy how much hype this kid has and it’s even more crazy has so far, he’s lived up to it! Can’t wait to see how he plays with Melo and A’mare when they come back. I think it could two ways–they can either be an unstoppable force OR completely implode. Hoping for the former!
